3rd Engineer

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Ø       Must have STCW 95 Certification

Ø       Holds appropriate licenses and certificates as required by regulations.

Ø       Applications: Windows XP, including Word, Excel
 

SOME POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø      The Third Engineer is responsible to the First Engineer for day watches as well as maintaining proper and safe operation of machinery.

Ø       Stand Engine Room Watches to the Chief Engineer’s Standing Orders, the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and the Seafarer’s Training, Certification and Watchkeeping Code (STCW).

Ø      Maintain the proper and safe operation of machinery, auxiliaries and equipment, bunkering operations, requisitions of spare parts and other needs of the engine department as directed by the Second Engineer.

Ø       In charge of emergency team as indicated in vessel’s Muster List.

Ø       Responsible for the safety, cleanliness and operation of their area.

Ø       Attend all department meetings.

Ø       Mandatory attendance at all assigned shipboard drills and emergency activities.

Ø      Create and implement ideas that will generate/increase revenue and/or reduce costs to the company.

Other related duties as assigned.
