Second Safety Officer

            EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Ø       Must have STCW 95 Certification

Ø       Holds appropriate licenses and certificates as required by regulations.

Ø       Stand bridge watches to the requirements of the Master’s Standing Orders and    the Company’s Safety Management System, STCW and Collision Regulations.

Ø       Hold a GMDSS Certificate.

Ø       Applications: Windows XP, including Word, Excel, Power Point,

SOME POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø      The Second Safety Officer is directly responsible to the Safety Officer on matters relating to the safety of the vessel, her passengers and crew.

Ø      Assist the Safety Officer in the maintenance and proper upkeep of all firefighting and lifesaving equipments

Ø      Assist the Safety Officer in safety exercises, inspections, training and drills.

Ø      Stand bridge watch to the requirements of the Master’s Standing Orders, the Safety Management System, the STCW and the Collision Regulations

Ø      Supervision of the Mooring station Forward / Aft during mooring and unmooring.

Ø      Participate in and comply with the vessel’s safety and security standards in compliance with ISM / SMS / ISPS procedures.

Ø       Responsible for their area’s safety, cleanliness, and operation.

Ø      Mandatory attendance at all assigned shipboard drills and emergency activities.

Ø      Create and implement ideas that will generate/increase revenue and/or reduce costs to the company.

Ø       Other related duties as assigned.

Ø       Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Ø       Good communication skill
