1st Engineer

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Ø       Must have STCW 95 Certification

Ø       Holds appropriate licenses and certificates as required by regulations.

Ø       Applications: Windows XP, including Word, Excel

          SOME POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø       The First Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer for matters relating to the engine room, engine stores and responsible crew.

Ø      Act on the Chief Engineer’s behalf in his absence or incapacity.

Ø      Ensure the effectiveness of shipboard discipline and the Safety Management System (SMS).

Ø      Supervise the day-to-day running of all plant equipment and machinery.

Ø       Allocate maintenance work to the Engine Room staff.

Ø      Supervise the organization and assignment of work loads for the Engine Room staff.

Ø      Check lube oil quantities and consumptions and adjust as needed.

      Ø       Assist the Chief Engineer with bunkering and bunker transfers.

Ø       Monitor and analyze cooling water.

Ø       Monitor potable water quality.

Ø       Supervise and check the general condition and maintenance of steering gear, air conditioning, etc.

Ø       Responsible for their areas safety, cleanliness and operation.

Ø       Attend all department meetings.

Ø       Mandatory attendance at all assigned shipboard drills and emergency activities.

Ø       In charge of all technical projects regarding hotel operations.

Ø       Create and implement ideas that will generate/increase revenue and/or reduce costs to the company.

Ø       Other related duties as assigned.
